About Compress PDF
Compress PDF reduces file size by rendering PDF pages and rebuilding them with compressed page images. You can choose a stronger compression level for smaller files or a higher visual quality setting when readability and image detail are more important.
This approach is useful for email attachments, uploads with file-size limits and documents that contain large scans or photos. Because pages are rasterized, selectable text and some interactive PDF features may no longer remain selectable or interactive in the compressed copy. Keep the original if those features matter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will PDF compression reduce image quality?
Stronger compression can reduce visual detail. Choose a higher quality setting when images or small text are important.
Will text remain selectable after compression?
This compressor re-renders pages as images, so selectable text may no longer remain selectable in the compressed copy.
Why does some PDF compression save more space than others?
Results depend on the original document. Scan-heavy and image-heavy PDFs often have more room for size reduction than already optimized files.
